The Police Action Project will undertake independent investigations into areas of policing which continue to be a cause of concern for the public. The first three projects will be on the following:-
1. use of tasers;
2. pre-crime and surveillance and;
3. stop and search.
The project reports will deliver solutions, alternatives to current practices and be a pathway towards real and constructive dialogue with the police service. The Police Action Project will draw on the experiences of the community but will also seek to engage academics, legal practitioners and campaigners to develop a cohesive approach to achieve real change in policy.
The participation of the police service will always be appreciated but as an independent body we will strive to base our findings on evidence gathered through our research rather than modelling our findings around an existing police policy.
If you are interested in making a donation towards the work of the Police Action Project then please contact us at info@policeactioncentre.org.uk for further information.
NB No funding or donations for the projects will be sought from individuals or organisations with connections to the police service.
